Questions...
HOLLY: what's your favorite color?
ME: teal
HOLLY: why?
ME: it's calming and makes me happy
HOLLY: what's your favorite animal?
ME: puppies
HOLLY: why?
ME: they're cute and cuddly and smell good
HOLLY: what's your favorite "type" of water? like.. a pool, ocean, raindrop, bottled water, puddle, anything like that...or it can be a specific lake, pond, river, etc
whatever
ME: aziscohos lake
HOLLY: why
ME: i grew up there, reminds me of family, air smells good and it's beautiful
HOLLY: good answers. you pass.
ME: lol
how would one fail that?
Ok.. now don't scroll anymore, and do this for yourself

So.. apparently Holly was quizzing me from a thing that Kateland did at her church.
What you say about your favorite color is is supposed to be how you want other people to see you, how you describe your favorite animal is supposed to be what you want in a significant other, and how you describe the water is how you view God.
So, to put this in perspective:
I want people to see me as calm and someone who makes other people happy (which I agree with)
I want my spouse to be cute and cuddly and smell good (oh yes, 100% yes :D)
and I view God as a clean fresh-air smelling beautiful place where I grew up, and as my family (<3)
I don't cry often... but this got me a little teared up...
<3
oh, side note... "failing this" might be possible... like saying something like this (as Ryan did):
my favorite animal is a yellow lab because it's furry...
:)

popcorn
I am incapable of making an appropriate amount of popcorn. Every time I make it I tell myself, “okay self, now last time you overflowed the pot, you don’t need all that popcorn, it just hung around for a week and you threw it away. DO NOT cover the whole bottom!” But I always do. And even when i know there’s always too much in there, I figure, hey! a couple more won’t hurt right?
So now, I sit with my normal sized bowl of popcorn, and a gigantic pot of it spontaneously popping those lonely un-popped kernels looming in the background.
Seriously, how is this a problem of mine? I’m a grown woman, I should know how to pop a normal amount of popcorn.
Shit, I left it on the burner and it’s burning.... shit shit shit!

With You In Your Dreams
He was gone when I woke up....
Today is his birthday
It's been 3 years
This song still makes me break down.
I miss you Grampie
Love, Jenny
If I'm gone when you wake up
Please don't cry
And if I'm gone when you wake up
It's not goodbye
Don't look back at this time as a time
Of heartbreak and distress
Remember me, remember me
'Cause I'll be with you in your dreams
But If I'm gone when you wake up
Please don't cry
And if I'm gone when you wake up
Don't ask why
Don't look back at this time
As a time of heartbreak and distress
Remember me, remember me
'Cause I'll be with you in your dreams
And though my flesh is gone,
I'll still be with you at all times
And although my body's gone, oh
I'll be there to comfort you at all times
I don't want you to cry and weep, oh
I want you to go on living your life
I'm not sleeping an endless sleep, oh
'Cause in your heart
You have all of our good times
Oh, all of our good times
Oh oh you have
And if I'm gone when you wake up
Don't ask why
Don't look back at this time
As a time of heartbreak and distress

This title has nothing to do with this post....
Kateland had a dream and I was in it... Here's her account of the weird/awesome/random-ness
My dream...
Okay so you me and Holly all decided to go to Coachella only this year it was in Nashville, not Cali. Oh and Nashville was near the ocean. Hanson and Sherwood had joined forces and made a band called Hanswood. The day of Coachella we went but all the bands except Hanswood canceled so the majority of people left. They decided to play on a new stage that was floating in the middle of the ocean. We were not happy about that so we decided to swim out to a buoy and hang on to it during the show. We got to the buoy and it disappeared but we found a random metal thing floating so we tried to get on it but there was a sign saying it was closed for Coachella so we swam to the stage to try and hold on to it. As we approached the stage we see that everyone in Hanswood had taken on the appearance of Mikey so there were like 10 Mikeys rocking out. We went to take pictures then realized all our cameras broke because we had swam around with them in our pockets. We heard a siren and a cop was coming on a jet ski to arrest us for trespassing. We were freaking out and as the jet ski got closer we saw that it wasn't a human cop but it was the shark from Finding Nemo who was riding a jet ski. Then I woke up.
Whaaaat?! Haha

Community
Why is it so wrong to be passionate about something? Are people just too scared to show their differences? The people who are truly passionate about what they do, their work, their interests, hobbies are the people who inspire me most. It's exhausting hiding all these different parts of myself. I'm tired of acting cool and I just want to be me. The only times I feel that I can are around people who don't live remotely close to me. The biggest thing that bothers me in this sense is Hanson, just because it's just seems so taboo to like them in today's society.
I suppose that's why I like YouTube so much. I can be myself, I can create something, I can edit out what I don't like and add in more of what I do. The Nerdfighter community is so amazing just in the fact that people aren't shunned for having different interests or passions. I have this friend who lives in California. Her name is Tiffany. On a Skype chat a few months ago we were just chatting, saying hi and such. On my videos I don't try to hide that I like Hanson, though it's not really a main topic. When I started YouTube I decided that I was going to be myself and if people accepted me for it, then yay! If not, that was fine too, but I wasn't going to try and put on a show. Anyway, Tiff told me out of the blue that though she didn't really like their music, she admired how much I enjoyed them. It's things like that that I truly appreciate and I am so glad that I've found a community where I am fully accepted. Who would have ever though that I could make some of my best friends in the world over the internet? Between HNet and YouTube, I have such a support system. The majority of people I talk to everyday I have never met.
So, Thanks go out to you all.

Tax Season is here! Let's celebrate!
So, I am a dork and like doing taxes. I like doing taxes more that auditing. What I don't like it having to work 55 hours a week for 3 months doing audits and not taxes....
So in rebellion today I have spent the past hour looking at entertaining things on facebook and twitter, and contemplating my place in the Harry Potter universe. Here's what I've come up with:
Okay.. that's about all I got. I wish I could get this excited about work. If work was a YouTube collab video, or a design project, or an art mural, or a color-coded spreadsheet (well, lets face it, most of my work is a spreadsheet...) I would be overjoyed to be here.

- I am a Ravenclaw
- The majority of my family is Gryffindor, though I suspect my mother to be a Hufflepuff
- I am also Ginny Weasley
- ...but I don't like Harry, so maybe I'm a twin or something... it's my imagination, I'll do what I want

things about me you don't know....
{{NOTE: after reading this back, I think I should have been an English major}}
------------------
I like filling out forms. Proof: when I go to airports I fill out all of those credit card and magazine subscription application things. Multiple times. I can't help myself. I love it.
I especially love newly opened yellow legal pads. They are best for writing.
One of my favorite books is completely about grammar. "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves" <3
I love semicolons; I use them frequently.
I also love dashes... and ellipses. :)
I like writing. I don't mean the kind of writing I'm doing here (though it is also thoroughly enjoyable), I mean writing in general. I love writing.
Example: writing out song lyrics from memory, bible verses that help me, lists, everything.
I don't think anyone knows these things about me though.
Isn't it strange how some of the things we love we never tell anyone about?
What don't people know about you?
Food for thought I suppose....

ok people....
2010 is here! And you know what that means!!! ..Well, you probably don't, but do not fear, I'm going to tell you! :)
Resolutions that will be kept (because they are completely do-able and semi-vague and I like them):
1. Blog once a week
2. Continue with project "get sexy" (see previous post)
3. Sleep more, procrastinate less, read more, and whine less
4. Re-Design http://www.youtube.com/ilessthanthreeyouu
5. Make better content for noted YouTube site. :)
So... 3 of the 5 are internet related, but seeing as I truly enjoy blogging, and designing, and vlogging/editing video, that's okay with me.
I should be doing other things right now (like working), but lately I've felt like my career is boring. Not in the sense that as a profession overall the field of accounting is boring (which it kind of is to most people), just that what I do every day is boring. I miss talking to customers and solving the million problems that come up every day at our family business, and seeing my family, and yadda yadda.... At the same time I am hesitant to leave my job because, lets face it, it's so difficult to find a job right now. I have dreams to move away and start over (Nashville calls my name daily), but I've seen my friends do this, and they're homesick, lonely, miserable, and eventually crawl back home defeated.
Basically, I've followed the rules my whole life, and now I'm beginning to think that maybe following all the rules has gotten me stuck. No one is limiting me in what I can do but me (and my family, but that's another blog).
On a completely different topic, I've been reading a lot more blogs lately (mainly JeffreySelf, AlanDistro, and hfrees), and I think this is how I'm going to get my need for writing out. Writing a 50,000 word novel in a month (national novel writing month, or NaNoWriMo was in November) failed miserably for me, but this I can do and be creative without all the constraints of fiction or plot or theme.
I learn a lot from blogging, which I didn't expect.
I learn a lot about myself, which I really didn't expect.
I like it

THREE FEET OF SNOW!
So.. here's the line-up for awesome weather way up nawth... or as my amazing Knoxvillian cousins say "almost Canada":
Thursday - Snow
Friday - Snow
Saturday - Snow
Sunday - Snow
Monday - Snow
Tuesday - SUNNY (kinda)
Wednesday - Snow
Thursday - Snow
Friday - SUNNY
All in all, we're supposed to get between one to three, get this.. FEET of snow!!!
I'm happy. I know a lot of people don't like snow. I have friends who complain about it. It's cold, it's wet, you have to shovel it, etc. etc. etc....
However, I am a huge fan of snow. Driving in it is kind of fun (NOTE: if you live in Maine, please learn to drive in snow.... it is not necessary to go 25 MPH on the interstate), and it's gorgeous afterward. Everything just shuts down (hopefully not the power, but even so) and it just feels like the world is on pause and we can breathe.
It's the best time to get some coffee (or tea, or coco, whatever you're into), a good book, and just cuddle up and relax. Some of my favorite memories are of my family just reading in the living room with candles lit and the wind howling outside. Cribbage tournaments and whole books read in one sitting and quietness and laughter. Wow I just said 'and' a lot.
Side-note... I was hoping to film my SK6ERS music video... video out in the snow with my brother. So, hopefully we can do that this weekend.

new year's goals
As of today, I have exactly 6 months before Sam & Emily's wedding. If you don't know, Sam and Emily are two of my best friends and this is going to be the most amazing wedding ever. I'm one of Em's bridesmaids, which means bachelorette parties, tons of fun, and also wearing a pretty dress :)
Now, this dress situation poses an issue. I have been trying to get healthier and lose some weight for some time now (seems like forever), but I think this wedding may be the push I need to eat healthier and work out more. This can't be a casual "I'm going to try to be healthier when I can" kind of thing. I have got to be serious. I'm going to be working at least 55 hours a week during tax season and it's going to be so easy to just want to sit on my butt and veg out when I get home. I cannot let myself do this.
So... you my friends are going to have to keep me in line. I'm basically talking to Kateland, but everyone else here too. We're going a sort of "biggest loser" thing on HNet in January, so I know I have a support group there.
My Wii Fit is going to be my savior though...
Okay... so specific goals (because, as my father always says: "if you don't set goals, how will you know when you've reached them?")
Ok... lets do this...
Project "get sexy" has commenced :)

- Sleep more: bedtime is 9:30pm
- Get up earlier (5:30am) and eat breakfast before work
- Excercise EVERY DAY!
- Use the Wii at least one hour a day-get a routine set up
- Go for walks outside when it's nice (preferably with mom)
- Eat healthier
- Bring lunch to work (and healthy snacks)
- NO MORE SODA
- Keep a food diary (I hate doing this FYI, but it's worked in the past, so I'll suck it up)
- TAKE YOUR VITAMINS! (I always always always forget this)
Ok... lets do this...
Project "get sexy" has commenced :)

Calvin & Hobbes Quotes:
As a math atheist, I should be excused from this.
Reality continues to ruin my life.
To make a bad day worse, spend it wishing for the impossible.
My only regret is blowing the best day of my life while I’m so young
Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless.
It’s psychosomatic. You need a lobotomy. I’ll get a saw.
“It seems like once people grow up, they have no idea what’s cool.”
In my opinion, we don’t devote nearly enough scientific research to finding a cure for jerks.
This one’s tricky. You have to use imaginary numbers, like eleventeen …
I’m learning real skills that I can apply throughout the rest of my life … Procrastinating and rationalizing.
I’m not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information
-------
Calvin : You can’t just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.
Hobbes : What mood is that?
Calvin : Last-minute panic.
Hobbes : What mood is that?
Calvin : Last-minute panic.

C : “Being cool.”

C: We are a fierce and dirty band of cut-throat pirates! Keep a sharp lookout matey, we dont want any sissy girls on our ship!”
H: “We dont like girls???”

H: “Who do we smooch then?”

“Today for show and tell I've brought a tiny marvel of nature: a single snowflake. I think we might all learn a lesson from how this utterly unique and exquisite crystal.. ..turns into an ordinary boring molecule of water just like every other one when you bring it in the classroom. And now. While the analogy sinks in. I’ll be leaving you drips and going outside.”

“Somewhere in communist Russia I’ll bet there’s a little boy who has never known anything but CENSORSHIP and OPPRESSION. But maybe he’s heard about AMERICA, and he dreams of living in this land of FREEDOM and OPPORTUNITY! Someday, I’d like to meet that little boy… AND TELL HIM THE AWFUL TRUTH ABOUT THIS PLACE!!”

Hey Now...
I've been listening to a lot of Something Corporate lately. My friend says that it's depressing, but I don't think so. I find hope in it (i can never ever get through a day without mistakenly quoting a hanson lyric....sigh...). I recently watched the Jack's Mannequin documentary 'Dear Jack' which chronicles the lead singer of both band's, Andrew McMahon, battle with leukemia. You should definitely watch this. It's amazing.

In other news, Andrew (not McMahon... BeeBo) told me yesterday that he missed my vlogs. YouTube was being very lame at the end of November and would not upload my videos, so I missed the last few days of vlogging every day in November for NaNoWriMo. I should have something up this weekend though, and will link you when it's up.

Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers show day!!!!
Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers show day!!!!
I went to church in the morning, I was still feeling pretty weird after the whole almost seeing Chris thing. I'm kind of glad he wasn't there, but at the same time I wish I could have seen him. It's just the whole first boyfriend thing... I don't know if I'll ever fully get over it, but I can try. Either way, had a much needed talk with the Big Guy and felt a lot better.
I drove my brother to school and hung out with his roommates while I waited for Stephanie to get out of work (she works in his college's town). She texted me and let me know she didn't feel well and wasn't going to come with.
So I went alone. I wasn't upset, I actually had a really awesome time despite being at a venue I'd never been to before and being there alone. I know it's kind of weird, but it seems that Hanson fans always have sort of a vibe around them. I say this because I knew the 3 girls at the bar were Fansons the minute they walked in, and they're generally awesome people (especially when at shows--unless they're bitchy....which they weren't).
So I made new friends and had an amazing night. Small venues are amazing! For the last song (before the encore) Stephen decided to bring the band into the crowd and play 'See You Later, See You Soon' which, though is not my absolute favorite Sk6ers song, has my favorite lyric. I have this phrase on a sticky note at my desk at work, on a homemade Starbucks coffee mug, and on my white board at home.
Somewhere east of that solo and a little bit west of the bridge
was the singular kind of moment that you remember as long as you live.
Boots was also standing in front of me.... I think he's cute... I think it's the smile... I dunno....
:)
:)
I had a smile on my face the entire time. I have a favorite quote that seems to fit here... two quotes actually:
May you live all the days of your life -Jonathan Swift
If you smile when you're alone then you really mean it. -Andy Rooney
Even though I was alone in the sense that I knew no one at the concert, I really felt like I was living. I wasn't self-conscious (which is a big deal for me), I was just in the moment and experiencing something. I wasn't taking pictures or anything, just being there, which was just perfect. And even though I wasn't technically alone, I wasn't smiling for anyone for me. Sometimes you smile for other people. Those smiles are different than when you smile when you're truly happy (like when you're alone). It's the best kind of happiness when it's like that.
After the show I literally ran into Stephen at the front of the venue, automatically asked "high-five?" and he was like "yessss!" High-fived me and gave me a huge hug, and we talked for a bit (he's super sweet). He dragged me over to the merch table and said hi to the other guitar player (not Kit.. the other guy.. I forget his name). I had a 2 hour drive home though... So I headed out.
I'm not sure how I got home without falling asleep or going off the road. It was scary
Got home at 1am... woke up for work at 5:45am.....

and if you're looking for advice my dear...
I have been a complete fail today...
I misplaced my concert tickets for tonight (Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers)
I cannot for the life of me find my driver's license
My car is a mess
I am not hungover (yay!)... but still feel a bit off from going out with Stephy last night
Solutions to my failures...
-Called the ticket vendor and got my order switched to will call
-United States Passport :)
-Cleaning out my car as soon as I post this
-Making pasta and eating Italian Ice.... I think not eating anything yet today except for coffee is adding to my stress level and weird feeling.
{{ Break to eat }}
i feel better now

my life is just a something corporate song....
..and the world is singing along...
I'm feeling 'meh'
...Something Corporate is my go-to band when I am down.
I may see my ex tonight
I'm nervous
And sad
And a million other emotions....
I'm just going to sit here and address christmas cards and listen to SoCo on shuffle and pretend to not be anxious...

Shake down you make me break
For goodness sake
I think I'm on the edge
Of something new with you
Shout out don't drown the sound
I'll drown you out
You'll never screan so loud
As I want to scream with you
Standing there with your smile blinding
Your eyes from seeing
My face as I'm dying
To figure out a girl
But she drifts so far away
I'm on her coast
So maybe I should stay
And map around your world
[Chorus]
So Don't Say
"These currents are still killing me"
And you can't explain
But the wind went and pulled me
Into the hurricane
Stand up don't make a sound
Your ears might bleed
There are sweet flourescent enemies
That live inside me
The world moves faster than I knew
Not fast enough to not creep up on you
And the space we put between
So pull me under your weather patterns
Your cold fronts and the rain don't matter
Becuase a sun burn's what I needed
[Chorus]
You don't do it on purpose
But you make me shake
Now I count the hours 'til you wake
With your babies breath
Breathe symphonies
Come on sweet catastrophe
Well, maybe this time I can follow through
I can feel complete
Stop paying dues
Stop the rain from falling
Keep my ocean calm
